MetaQuotes, the software development company behind MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MT5, received a letter from Apple on Friday, September 23, stating that the firm’s trading apps do not comply with the App Store Review Guidelines (source: FinanceMagnates, hereinafter FM).
Whilst existing users who have the apps downloaded can use them normally, the two popular trading apps are no longer found on App Store.
FM’s reports suggest that the apps removal may be connected with the Western sactions on Russian entities and individuals as a result of Russia’s war on Ukraine. However, a MetaQuotes representative dismissed such claim, as per Finance Magnates article.
The representative of Metaquotes, however, noted that the removal of the trading apps from the App Store has caused significant losses to the company and affected the entire industry as well.
