Following the 10 unlicensed online betting operators which have been blocked in mid-July, Slovakia has now blacklisted other 6 operators which have been serving locals without a licence.
The operators are forced by the Authorities to take down the websites within 10 days, before they will pay a penalty of €500,000.
The first blacklist released by the Ministry of Finance included gambling domains such as 888 Holdings, Bet365, Bet-at-Home, Bwin, William Hill, GVC, 1xbet, Eatsleepbet.com, LVbet.com and Kajot-casino.com.
Last year Slovakia passed an amended legislation that requires from all sports betting websites to obtain appropriate local licences and to pay 27% tax on their gross revenue from gaming.
A lot of gaming operators quit country’s market after the amended legislation, but some who remained did not applied for a licence.
Slovakia along with Poland and Czech Republic have urge local Internet Service Provides to Block the Unlicensed Operators.
