Junior Network Engineer
As a Junior Network Engineer, you will support, monitor, and maintain our global network infrastructure. You will assist with troubleshooting, configuration, and security tasks while learning from senior engineers to ensure reliable connectivity across our worldwide data centers.
Duties & Responsibilities
Network Monitoring & Maintenance:
- Monitor and troubleshoot the company’s global network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers).
- Ensure uptime, stability, and optimal performance of customer-facing and internal systems.
- Assist in routine maintenance, upgrades, and patches of networking equipment.
- Provide technical support for network-related issues to internal teams and customers.
- Assist in diagnosing connectivity, routing, and firewall problems.
- Escalate complex incidents to senior engineers while documenting root causes and solutions.
- Support in configuring and deploying new network devices (Cisco, Juniper, pfSense, etc.).
- Assist with VLAN configuration, VPN setup, and routing protocols under guidance.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, including new data center setups and expansions.
- Assist in implementing security best practices across the network (firewall policies, IDS/IPS monitoring).
- Help identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
- Support in ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Prepare reports on incidents, performance, and capacity planning.
- Contribute to the company’s knowledge base for troubleshooting.
- Work closely with senior network engineers to gain hands-on experience in advanced configurations.
- Participate in training and continuous learning initiatives.
- Support cross-functional teams (systems, cloud, support) on networking aspects of client projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
- No prior work experience required (entry-level position).
- Strong interest in networking, data centers, and internet infrastructure.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
